SANDI ANDERSON Dip AD

After graduating from Glasgow School of Art, Sandi had a long and fulfilling career in film and television. Painting full time began in 2003 and working figuratively in the landscape took over her practice in 2010. She frequently battles strong winds, rain and midge attack. The 'en plein air' approach dictates an intuitive response on a small scale, producing a use of tone, colour and simplicity that has become signature in her work. Drawing remains at the core of her output, whether in paint or printmaking. The form of Scotland's landscape is echoed in a grand and minute scale. Humans form pattern on its surface - often out of kilter - sometimes in harmony. She halts where the light makes magic . . . and soon the moment passes.
